Hi! I’m Sherrie, Academy Director
Originally from Florida, Sherrie holds an Early Childhood Education Teacher Certification from Pinellas County and brings over 20 years of experience in education and youth development. Her background includes roles in early childhood, afterschool, and family programs, with 15 years in leadership and program management.
Sherrie’s journey in education began in New York, where she earned an Associate’s Degree from the New York School for Film & Television, followed by a BFA in Fine Arts and an AA in Psychology from Adelphi University. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Director of Youth & Family Services at HANAC, Youth & Family Director for the YMCA of Greater New York, and Area Leader for KinderCare Learning Centers, overseeing multiple accredited programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
Most recently, Sherrie served as Senior Director of Children & Youth Programs for The Salvation Army North Texas Area Command, supporting 15 programs across the Fort Worth Metroplex.
She holds certifications in Positive Behavior Management, Family Development (UCONN), and is a National Trainer for Boys & Girls Club Youth Development Professionals.
