After-School & Summer Care

After-School & Summer Care

Trailblazers: A Safe, Engaging Program for School-Age Children

Finding quality care for school-age children can be a challenge for working parents. A great program must provide safety, structure, meaningful activities, and flexibility. The Trailblazers program is designed to meet these needs by offering a supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun before and after school as well as during school breaks.

Trailblazers serves children from kindergarten through age 12 and provides families with flexible options and dependable care. At the same time, it gives kids opportunities to explore new interests, build friendships, and develop character through engaging daily activities.

A Before- and After-School Experience

Trailblazers supports families with structured programs both before school begins and after the school day ends.

Before School

Mornings are designed to help children start the day prepared and encouraged. Activities may include:

  • Daily devotions that address topics relevant to school-age children
  • Breakfast to help children start the day energized
  • Transportation to school on Lionheart buses

These morning routines help set a positive tone for the day ahead.

After School

After school, students participate in a variety of activities designed to support both learning and social development.

Some highlights of the after-school experience include:

  • Group activities that promote teamwork and social skills
  • Playtime and outdoor activities when weather permits
  • Homework support when needed
  • Community outreach projects that encourage giving back
  • Weekly chapel time called “Base Camp,” featuring interactive Bible-based lessons
  • A caring environment where children can relax, connect, and simply be kids

The goal is to create a balance of fun, structure, and personal growth.

Safe and Reliable Transportation

Transportation safety is a key priority in the program. Drivers receive regular safety training that exceeds state licensing requirements, and driving records are reviewed regularly. Children are also taught how to behave responsibly on the bus so that everyone contributes to a safe environment.

Lionheart buses include several safety features:

  • High-back seats with three-point lap and shoulder belts
  • Backup camera systems
  • Three emergency exits
  • Upgraded braking systems
  • Compliance with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration safety standards

These features help ensure children travel safely between school and the academy.

School Break and Summer Adventures

Trailblazers also offers programs during school breaks, including winter break, spring break, and summer. These programs provide engaging experiences when school is not in session.

Activities often include:

  • STEAM learning opportunities
  • Team-building exercises
  • Field trips and special events
  • Sports and large group games
  • Devotions and service projects

The schedule typically runs from morning through mid-afternoon, with extended care available before and after program hours.

Flexible Summer Programs

Summer Club is designed to provide both flexibility and fun. Families may attend all summer or select the weeks that best fit their schedule.

The summer experience includes:

  • Daily activities that support math and reading development
  • Field trips and hands-on experiences
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Community service opportunities
  • Special themed weeks and activities

The result is a summer filled with adventure while still encouraging learning and growth.

A Place Where Kids Can Learn, Grow, and Have Fun

Trailblazers aims to support families by providing dependable care while creating meaningful experiences for children. Through fun activities, spiritual development, and supportive staff, children can build friendships, learn new skills, and grow in character in a safe and encouraging environment.
