Our Outstanding Staff

Bernice Phanthavady

Teacher @ Arapaho Road in Garland

Bernice Phanthavady joined our Lionheart family at our Academy in Garland in June 2016. She exemplifies a servant's heart in so many ways as she serves the children, families, and staff of our Academy. Parents routinely comment on her warm, friendly demeanor. She is constantly attentive to the children's needs and unique character qualities. She is consistent in her care and job duties while being a flexible team player whenever a need arises. When seeing that multiple staff had requested the same time off, she was quick to offer to change her request to an alternate date. She is a joy to have as a part of our Lionheart family!

Amanda Goodson

Teacher @ LABC in Arlington

Amanda began teaching with us at Lionheart Academy in Arlington in August 2016. She has a great attitude, is incredibly flexible, and open to immediately implementing any creative suggestions she is given. Recently, a Lionheart Director was observing her and discussed incorporating a fun sensory activity. The very next day, Amanda immediately implemented an exciting spaghetti sensory activity with her students. Needless to say, the children had an amazing time and Amanda remained her calm, composed, and incredibly patient self while supervising the messy and delight-filled activity! Her positive can-do attitude is contagious and a joy for everyone around her – children, parents, and staff.

Sherry Alexander

Morning Nursery Teacher & Kitchen Manager @ Arapaho Road

Sherry has a great willingness to help wherever needed and with an amazing attitude. With a clear understanding of the service ministry we’re seeking here at Lionheart, she pours her heart out to serve those around her. In addition to loving our children and families well, she serves other staff members regularly. She is always willing to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice. The positive attitude she has is contagious. Recently, she even assisted leadership with some creative ideas for how to show our staff just how appreciated they all are. Caring for others is a quality that just comes naturally to Ms. Sherry. She embodies Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men,” by always striving to do her best.
